Keema

Well kids, grab your bags, we're heading around the world again.  This time the destination is Denmark....and let me tell you....those Danes know how to fucking rock!  Keema is the perfect example of that!

Not sure how long these guys have been rocking together but their sound is tight and judging from the videos I've watched, they have a fucking great time performing together.  If you're into hard rock you'll want to check out Keema.

HATE

Okay...I'm not sure why I would choose a song titled Hate to blow out 2013 with....perhaps there are some Freudians out there that can analyze that one.  Anyway, boys and girls, Happy New Year!!  I'm hoping you'll make me proud and turn it up - blow 2013 out the fucking door and bring in 2014 hard and loud....... ; )

Angel One

Y'all know I'm a huge fan of October Sky!  These boys have serious fucking talent and deserve to be recognized as the rock stars they are....though they are way too humble to ever think of themselves as such.

Angel One is one of the most heartbreaking, touching songs you'll find on their latest album The Aphotic Season.  The emotions October Sky evoke in this song are real....their messy...and we've all felt them.  The boys just recently released an official video for this latest single and I'm warning you now....you might cry.....I fucking did.

ANGEL ONE

Well?  Are you crying?  If not....oh my god! Do you have a heart of stone??  Anyway, whatever emotions October Sky writes and sings about, they never fail to do with a sense of class and a sexy style that drives this rock and roll chick wild......... ; )

Visit October Sky at octobersky.ca.  You can catch the latest on what their up to and all their links from there.

Jhonny K and the Krew

Last night I was listening once again to Red and Jay and their show We're Right, You're Wrong at www.wererightyourewrong.com ....well, basically because I heard they were talking about me.  So before kicking their fucking asses I thought I'd better see for myself.  Turns out it was all good so they're safe for another week....y'know for smart asses they definitely know how to stay on a girls good side...guess smart ass is way better than dumb ass....

Anyway....after I was assured they weren't saying bad shit about me, I stuck around and listened to the whole show.  Again, I highly recommend you waste the hour a week of your life and give these boys a listen....they tend to raise a good point.  I'm also discovering they have kick ass guests every week as well!  Last night was no exception as they interviewed Jhonny K of Jhonny K and the Krew.

Jhonny is quite impressive with his musical background, obviously bitten by the music bug as a young guy, he wanted to play the drums....after discussions with his mother though, settled for the trumpet.  From there he never looked back....adding guitar, songwriting, producing and success coach...? to his talents, Jhonny sought out knowledge of the business from the best in the business in Nashville, Tennessee and has developed quite a body of work.

Pulling together gifted musicians.....Aaron "Yeequon" Lee on lead guitar and vocals, Matt Boles on bass and vocals, Voltz aka Lee Sebel on keyboards and vocals, Lizz Clayton on violin and vocals, and of course the keeper of the beat Jeff Walpole on drums and vocals...... Jhonny K leads Jhonny K and the Krew on vocals and guitar.  Their sound is country rock and like my favorites, the Eagles, Jhonny K and the Krew pull together great harmonies and kick ass rock guitar.  With a couple of albums under their belts, I could share a number of songs with you but t'is the season......

I SAW 3 SHIPS

I'm glad I took the time to check out Jhonny K a little more closely, you see, those smooth vocals and kick ass rhythms aren't all he has going for him....turns out he's quite the sexy beast as well and well, you know how I feel about sexy rock stars........ ; )

Check out more of Jhonny K and the Krew at www.jknation.com and catch more of his links including twitter, facebook and youtube while you're there!

Burden of Sanity

Not that I listen to too many dudes that tell me their right and I'm wrong but Red and Jay lured me into listening to their podcast by tempting me with a kick ass band interview and prizes.  So, Monday night after listening to the Rock and Roll Report, I was online anyway and decided to give We're Right, You're Wrong a listen.

Well, I'm fucking glad I did!  And for a number of reasons! First...they are fucking funny.  Anyone who makes me laugh gets my attention and support...and Red and Jay have a natural banter and a great sense of humor.  Second...they're opinionated.  I like that in a man...gives me a reason to argue...er debate...with him.  Third....they were hosting a contest that was fucking giving away kick ass music!  Fourth...I fucking won!

Burden of Sanity is a hard rock/alternative metal band out of Miami.  What I really like about them is they don't sound like anything I've ever heard before.  Which really shouldn't surprise me as their influences (whom I'm a fan of as well) Killswitch Engage, Tool and the Deftones liked to push creativity through their own original styles.  And well, let's face it....if it rocks, I fucking like it....and Burden of Sanity fucking rocks.  Here....take a lisen....

EASE THE PAIN

I have it good authority that they are about to release a CD....well, because I fucking won one...so visit them on facebook > https://www.facebook.com/Burdenofsanity or on ReverbNation > http://www.reverbnation.com/burdenofsanity to find out how to get yours!

And before I go....I gotta tell you to check out Red and Jay and their podcast We're Right, You're Wrong recorded weekly.  You can find it here > www.wererightyourewrong.com.  Oh and follow them on twitter....their handle is @yesweareright.  They're saucy little fuckers but I'm sure you'll like em as much as I do...... ; )

Bash The Band

The secret behind social media is to get into the right circles....follow and friend those who are gonna turn you on to what you're fucking interested in.  One of my most intelligent follows is the Epic Texan out of...well, Texas, duh!

This man has turned me on to the best independent hard fucking rocking, blow your fucking mind music coming out of Texas and well, yeah he fucking did it again!  Yesterday, in a post directed to all his friends I'm sure, but I took it to mean me, he told me I HAD to follow Bash The Band!  And as  usual, he was absolutely right.  These boys fucking rock!!  But why should you take my word for it?  Well, because I fucking know great music, that's why....but of course I'll give you a taste for yourself.  This is Bash The Band!  Turn it the fuck up and get those horns high rockers!!

BASH THE BAND

I know, I've said this before, but I truly have to get my ass to Texas.  Holy shit, it is fucking happening there!  The list of artists in that state that are a must see is getting pretty fucking long and now it includes Bash The Band!  If you're in the area, you gotta friend and follow the Epic Texan on facebook and twitter respectively.  He's constantly posting events that I fucking wish I could go to, featuring excellent hard rock and metal artists from the Texas area!  Get to those fucking shows and rock out...support that local music!  And who knows? Perhaps one of these days you'll catch me there too!   I'll be the drunk blonde up front....... ; )

You can find Bash The Band all over the fucking web....facebooktwitterreverbnation, youtube and of course at their own website www.bashtheband.com

Check out the Dollyrots!  Merry Christmas freaks.......... ; )

Psycho Motor

I think it might be a close race as to whom has appeared more in Cat's Litter Box....this post might be the post that gives Gift of Destiny a solid lead.  It's no secret I absolutely fucking love this band!

Gift of Destiny hits me hard with their metal foundations, their sound is solid as steel.  But more than that, their diversity and willingness to push the limits of how Metal music is interpreted is what truly lights my fire.....these guys are seriously the real deal and if you love metal and hard rock you definitely have to check them out.

Their first album Throttle is still one of my favorites and I find myself turning it all the fuck the way up every time it makes an appearance on my iPod!  Well, now, I'll be turning it up twice as much because Gift of Destiny has released their new EP, Psycho Motor.....and it's so fucking cheap....er inexpensive....that even I can fucking afford it!!

These guys are the best ...and as a way of proving it.... they have provided a free download to all my readers.  Their spin of Play That Funky Music is incredible!  Y'know how sometimes you can get pissed off when a new band fools with one of your favorite songs?  Well, this is one of my fucking all time favorite songs and I fucking love this version....and you will too!

Just click this link for your free download > Play That Funky Music - Free Fucking Music!!

I also want to share another original Gift of Destiny song with you but Reverbnation is being a total bitch and won't fucking let me..... haha...she must be sensitive because now she's gonna help a girl out... come and get your Therapy rockers!  This song explains everything I've told you about Gift of Destiny.....

THERAPY

Now head over there yourself....check out their music....click the link to buy from CD Baby...you can choose either the CD or digital version.....you know I fucking did..... ; )

RecapTheElapsed

Hey, I've always said I love lyrics and I heard a band this morning whose lyrics just reached out and touched my soul.  And isn't that what everyone looks for in the music they listen to?

I would have to describe RecapTheElapsed as a post-surfboard punk band with attitude with something to say about pop culture.  I have to fucking admit, I like the way they do it.  Are they ever gonna stand with the likes of U2 or Sir Paul McCartney ....not a fucking chance.  I'd put them more on a scale with Sum 41 and The Kottonmouth Kings (the Kings aren't punk, but they have that same tell it the way it fucking is attitude).

In any case, this song made me smile this morning....and I fucking love to smile, so I'm gonna share it with you.  Fuck it...it was Ode To Miley...Plus a Few Others!! that caught my attention but I'm gonna share their whole playlist.  Enjoy, and fucking smile, you're cuter when you smile..... ; )

Alberta (Where the Green Grass Grows)

Alberta is the place where the green grass grows unless it's the middle of winter then its just fucking cold.  This past summer Alberta was hit very hard.  Torrential rains and storms brought floods the likes that Alberta had never seen before.  Calgary, High River and surrounding communities (reaching all the way to Medicine Hat and Lethbridge) saw many residents driven from their homes as the waters rose, flooding most, washing some away.  The devastation was immense and horrible.

A good friend of mine in Trochu, Alberta had just finished writing a song about the province in which he loves and lives when the news hit.  His mind full of the path of destruction the high waters had created, Gordon Wesley Moore of Made in Canada practiced his song about his beautiful province with tears in eyes.  Wanting to do something but having little to give he decided to give his song.  I guess you could compare Gordy with a certain little drummer boy who only had the gift of song to give....kinda fitting for this time of year, huh?

With a little help from his musician friends...John Schilling, Lewis Frere, Dean Ray, and Craig Learmont (who is also Gordy's producer), Alberta (Where the Green Grass Grows) is now for sale. All proceeds from the sale of this song will go to help rebuild what Mother Nature chose to destroy (she must suffer from PMS because man, what a bitch!)  It will take the Province of Alberta many, many years to rebuild (the costs of rebuilding run into the billions).  Please click on this link > CD Baby - Alberta (Where the Green Grass Grows) and hit the buy button to purchase Alberta (Where the Green Grass Grows) and help Alberta rebuild.  Here's a preview of the song........

ALBERTA (WHERE THE GREEN GRASS GROWS)

One thing we do know about Canadians in general is that they are caring, generous people.  We help when we can and now Gordy is giving you the opportunity to not forget that people are still out of their homes and you can still do a very small part to help.  As a thank you, you get an awesome song as well.  It's the gift that keeps on giving....... ; )

Forever Still

One of my very favorite things is clicking on a tune from a band I've never heard before and discovering something that fucking rocks.  Well, it's gonna be a great day because it happened to me this morning when I clicked on Forever Still's bandcamp page!

Hailing from Copenhagen Denmark and fronted by Maja Shonning this band will blow you away at first listen.  Forever Still can certainly give Evanescence and Lacuma Coil a run for their money. Conceived in 2009 and building steam and energy ever since, Forever Still has developed their line-up over the years and released their first EP Breaking Free earlier this year.

Combining melodic rock with the heavier strains of metal and hard rock with a dash of industrial techno added in, Forever Still has created a progressive rock sound that is fresh and new yet classic as well.  I imagine they will enjoy great success not only in Denmark but around the world.  You gotta check em out....and be sure to listen to the end, Forever Still will surprise you....in a fucking rocking way!

THE KEY

What did I fucking tell you!  What a great fucking way to start a day!!  Rock on boys and girls, you can thank me later....... ; )

For more info on this kick ass band check out their webpage at foreverstill.dk.  You can catch all their links there as well!

Hockey Night in Saskatchewan?

Now I know y'all know how crazy I am about One Bad Son....well, there must be something in the Saskatchewan water that produces kick ass rock bands because they keep fucking turning em out!  I came across Screamlyne a few months ago, and you may have caught my blog post in September ranting and raving about how much they fucking rock > Screamlyne

You may also know about how much I'm into supporting kick ass bands such as Screamlyne who are out there fucking doin it on their own, trying to get their songs heard.  I've often encouraged you to go to their shows, buy their music and their merchandise so they have the means to make more kick ass music. Another way you can support is by voting for them in various contests.  It doesn't cost you a fucking thing except maybe a couple of minutes of your time (if that) and it could mean big prizes or decent exposure for them.

Well, Screamlyne has entered CBC Music's contest to find the next great Hockey Night in Canada song. The winner will record a studio version of their song and be aired in a montage in prime time at the beginning of Hockey Night in Canada.  I've said it many, many fucking times...Canada fucking rocks!! Let's prove it to the nation by voting for Screamlyne!!

Now get your ass over....well, I guess you don't need to fucking move, just click this link > http://music.cbc.ca/#/Hockey-Night-in-Canada-Song-Quest.  Hit the Saskatchewan option and they'll pop right up.  Hit the vote button and you're done.  Then get into the fucking habit, bookmark the page and vote everyday!  Come on, it's the least you can do and you'll prove to me that YOU fucking rock just as hard as the rockers in Screamlyne......... ; )

This is the song you'll be voting for....

Dark December

Okay....I'm ashamed of myself.  I obviously wasn't stalking these boys hard enough last year, because this one slipped by me.  It took listening to Fresh Tracks this weekend on 106.9 The Wolf to hear this fucking awesome Christmas song from One Bad Son....and it was on LAST YEAR'S 604 Records Christmas compilation album, Bundled Up.

The song is Dark December and like One Bad Son, it fucking rocks.  I can't imagine a better way to get into the Christmas spirit than listening to great rock Christmas tunes....well....maybe a spiked Egg Nog and great rock Christmas tunes....

Anyway....I'm a year late but let's kick off this December and get into the Christmas spirit with this great tune from One Bad Son....... ; )

DARK DECEMBER

For more great videos from One Bad Son tune into One Bad Son TV on youtube > One Bad Son's kick ass youtube channel!

Battle at the Cambie

Hey kids, I'm back!  Sorry for the absence....I quit smoking again and was feeling a little on edge but now I'm feelin fine and lookin even better!  In fact, I was feelin and lookin so fine I felt I had to get out and take in some serious rock and roll on Saturday night....so that's exactly what I did.

Throughout the month of November the Cambie Bar and Grill in Nanaimo, British Columbia has been having a little competition.  Pitting great local island bands against one another, it all came down to the best of them this past Saturday night!  Man, I tell ya, when I pick a night to go out, I pick a fucking night to go out!!

It was all started with band #1, Cathedral Groove, a funky, cool, bohemian style band out of Courtenay, British Columbia.  They succeeded in getting my toes tapping and shoulders swaying to their cool funky vibe.  Here have a listen for yourself....

PARTY IN PURGATORY

Band #2 fucking rocked my world with their driving rhythms and hard fucking rock riffs. Hailing from Nanaimo, Under the Mountain has rightfully gained quite a large local fan base.  Headbanging and rocking out these boys made me feel right at home.  They fucking blew me away and I couldn't fucking sit still while they strutted their stuff.  Ah, here....you gotta check em out....fucking Rock n' Roll with Rock n' Roll.....

ROCK N' ROLL

I was especially excited to catch Band #3 considering they had already caught my attention.  Turned on to The Distributors by 106.9 The Wolf's DJ, Mike Lang, I've written about these talented young people in a blog post I posted back in September -  The Distributors.  Also hailing from Nanaimo, It was very exciting to catch them perform live and they fucking killed it, performing a smattering of their original tunes along with some great covers!

IN COLOR

It was Band #4 I was there to support though....Carry The Storm takes Metal to new highs, not to mention I'm quite fond of the kid who leads this fucking kick-ass band.  Incredibly talented musicians, this Nanaimo band never ceases to fucking entertain.  I've written about them previously as well but this time they finally fucking have a track recorded that I can share with you!  Metal fans get your fucking horns up in the fucking air and turn this tune all the fucking way up!!  This is Betrayal....

BETRAYAL

Completely different and diverse styles, these bands are best at what they do within their own genres and each one of them deserved to take home top prizes. A majority of the fans in attendance had to be hard rock fans because the fan vote came in with their choice of Under the Mountain to take the top prize.  I'm not sure who took home the judges prize....Amber hasn't fucking updated their facebook page yet....perhaps if she reads this, she'll let us know by posting the winner in a comment below. C'mon darlin, the kids wanna know...... ; )

Here are some links to stalk, er I mean check out more from these kick-ass bands....

Retribution Blues

The first song I ever heard by One Bad Son was Retribution Blues.  It was part of a three song EP they released, oh man, has to be at least two years ago now.  I fell in love with the song, with One Bad Son and had to have everything they recorded.  So of course I bought it all.

At that time they had two full albums under their belts....Orange City and This Aggression Will Not Stand and of course they were both fucking amazing.  I'm still a huge fan of One Bad Son....those of you who read this blog regularly or follow me on twitter, or am my friend on facebook know this already.  I'm am so happy that the band is seeing the success they deserve with the release of their latest self titled album.  Singles such as Scarecrows and It Ain't Right have been getting serious radio play.

Their third single off the album, Retribution Blues...yeah, that's right, they re-released it on this album.... is now one of the most requested songs on many radio stations around the country.  One Bad Son has just released the video for this fucking awesome song, so I just have to share it with you!

RETRIBUTION BLUES

If you weren't a fan before, I know you are now.....well, that is if you're not fucking crazy and don't have very poor taste in music....... ; )

NG26

I don't know what Timberlake was thinking but I'm thinking NG26 from the UK is bringing sexy back to rock and roll in a big fucking way!  These hard rockers have what it takes and have been making huge waves across the pond.

NG26 is made up of  two sets of brothers who I have to admit have got me a little excited - they are fucking sexy as hell.  And the sexy doesn't end there!  Their brand of  hard rock  is full of edgy riffs and drum rhythms that prove every rock band needs a fucking drummer!  Oh yeah baby....they definitely get my heart (and hips) going!  NG26 are rock and roll personified and they're out to prove it.  Take a listen for yourself....

IF WE FALL TONIGHT

Currently signed by Holier Than Thou Records they already have an EP (The Devils Kiss) and full album (Open Your Mind) under their belts......hmmmm, I wonder what else they have under their belts......... ; )

I'm not the only one talking about these boys.  Check out other reviews and more music here > www.holierthanthou.co.uk

Lest We Forget

Remembrance Day or Armistice Day is a day in which Commonwealth countries, since the end of World War I, set aside to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.  In Canada, November 11th is the date of remembrance for the men and women who serve and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace.

At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month a hush will fall over our nation as we take two minutes of silence to honour and remember those who sacrifice their lives for the freedom of rights of all people, not just for those in our great nation but for those who are oppressed all over the world.

Today the Canadian Armed Forces are well known around the world as "peacekeepers".  This means we don't heavily arm our forces to go blow up the enemy, but we send them out in times of conflict to keep others from blowing each other up until a resolution of peace can be found.  Some find our forces to be a joke, I personally find them to be honourable and I admire what they do and the manner in which they do it.  It's just one more reason I am so proud to be Canadian.

So today at 11:00 am I'll dedicate two minutes of my life to those I admire so much, the soldiers and the peacekeepers, and in the meantime I can't think of a more fitting song to dedicate to those I will be thinking of for those two minutes.  This is The Trews and their song Highway of Heroes.....

HIGHWAY OF HEROES

Lest we forget.  .................. ; )

Go Primitive

Okay....I came across a band this morning from the UK.  Their name Go Primitive caught my attention right away...seriously, what rock and roll fan doesn't get in touch with their baser instincts when they listen to the music they love.  And if that weren't fucking enough, they describe their music like The Used and the Foo Fighters having a fight!  You know I gotta listen to that shit!

Sooooo, I hopped on over to their website at www.goprimitive.co.uk and clicked on their youtube link.  What I found was a video for their official video for their single Fever Inside.  Not only does Go Primitive fucking rock but they also have great imaginations.   I was immediately entertained by their fucking awesome music and their "dream sequence" video.  For a girl like me who's favorite things in this world is rockin out, the macabre and a sense of humor, these guys are the answer to all my dreams!

FEVER INSIDE

I had a hard time picking a favorite character in this video, but I finally settled on Buphy the vampire slayer....what can I say?  I have a soft spot for pretty blondes.  Anyway...my recommendation for today is to check out my latest dreamboats - Go Primitive!  By the way, their music sounds like The Used and the Foo Fighters having a fight.......... ; )

The Glorious Sons

What would we do without friends?  I don't fucking know and I don't want to find out.  One particular friend of mine has a great ear for music and when he finds something outstanding, he'll give me a heads-up.  His name is Roy Galpin and he's a music promoter.  He turned me on to the Screaming Eagles and more recently (this weekend, as a matter of fact) he turned me on to The Glorious Sons!

The Glorious Sons are a cool fucking rock band out of Kingston, Ontario.  They're relatively new, yet are already catching attention across Canada and getting fucking radio air!! Here, take a listen and you'll understand why.....

MAMA

And wouldn't you fucking know it....Roy turns me onto this song on Saturday, then on Sunday I hear their new track, White Noise, on Fresh Tracks on 106.9 The Wolf with Mike Lang!  Mike's show is another great place to hear new music and I do my best every week not to miss it!  This was just another example of why not!

Right now The Glorious Sons are touring Canada, opening for Vancouver's Head of the Herd (a cool fucking modern rock band).  Visit The Glorious Sons' tour page at theglorioussons.com/tour/ to find out when they're coming to your town.  They'll be at the Venue in Vancouver on November 30th......hmmmmmmm.....looks like I'll be taking another trip to the mainland........ ; )

Zeistencroix

Okay boys and girls, if you're into Industrial Rock, I have a fucking cool treat for you today in the Litter Box.  Yesterday, I happened to be going through my facebook messages when I came across one from Orlando Draven, the very sexy and very talented front man of Zeistencroix, inviting me to check out their new video for their single Stranger.

I can't fucking stop watching it!  I'm fucking hooked on this band out of Los Angeles, California.  Zeistencroix is made up of Draven on vocals and guitar (Orlando also is the songwriter), Jack Akopan on guitars, and Jean Corredor on bass.  They have drums on the track but no drummer listed as a member, so I have to assume they borrow a drummer for recording and performing.  Added synths and electronics give their sound that industrial groove!  Here, take a listen....

STRANGER

This song affected me on a personal level too.  I found it compelling, sexy and very fucking scary! It's no secret I spend a lot of time online chatting with "Strangers" and one has to consider the consequences of who might be sitting on the other side of the keyboard.  There's a lot of fucking weirdos out there.  I know, because I've chatted with a few of them!  I'm not talking about you though of course........ ; )

I can't fucking wait for Zeistencroix to release more.  Keep up with them with me by checking in on their website at www.zeistencroix.com, liking their facebook page at www.facebook.com/zeistencroix and following them on twitter at twitter.com/zeistencroix.

Ardour.Awe.Devoir.

I write about a lot of bands here.  All of them catch my attention in one form or another.  One of those bands....and I'm going way fucking back....not only caught my attention, but has held it for years now.  They are a Metal band out of New Jersey....y'know what, I don't want to call them a Metal band anymore...yeah they still play Metal but they aren't fucking afraid to experiment with different styles too.

The band I'm speaking of is Killed the Fixtion and I've been watching....er, listening to these young men grow and build on what was already an incredible talent into something that I can't help but feel is destined for greatness.  Their willingness to stretch their boundaries never ceases to amaze and impress me.  Their song Ardour.Awe.Devoir is a perfect example of how diverse this "Metal" band is.....

ARDOUR.AWE.DEVOIR.

On November 2, that's right... just a few days away, Killed the Fixtion will be sharing their entire music catalogue with everyone in the "family"!  No...it's not a fucking mob thing, you don't need to kill anyone or owe a "favor" to any godfathers....all you gotta do is join the Killed the Fixtion family at http://killedthefixtion.fanbridge.com/ and they'll send you a link on November 2nd to download all their music, for fucking free people!!!!  I've been a member of the Killed the Fixtion family for a long time now and I guarantee you this is not a scam or spam site.

The men of Killed the Fixtion have what it takes for greatness and I love them very much...they're not afraid to expand and try new things...they remember their roots and try cool old things too.  Hmmmm, cool old things....I wonder if I would fit into that catagory......... ; )

Migrant Worker

Well, I'm going to have to take you back to the UK for the band I'm featuring today.  Migrant Worker has two members and a drummer they borrow from another band.  What I find unbelievable is how fucking full their sound is!

I know, I know....the world is full of great trios...Rush immediately comes to mind....it's just that it still fucking surprises me.  I've heard bands with 5 or more members who can't quite put a sound together to make it full and complete.  So yeah, I'm impressed by what Migrant Worker has been able to create.

I've been listening to their first album Supertits Candysnake....oh hell yeah, how could I fucking resist with a title like that!....and I'm really digging their alternative rock style.  You can stream this album too on Soundcloud at soundcloud.com/migrantworker.  In fact I highly recommend you do!  Migrant Worker is a talented and diverse band.  They have been able to create a sound that is recognizable and distinct without every song sounding the same.  Fuck I love that!

In the meantime, check out their video for a new song set to be the first track off their soon to be released CD, The SuperNow.  This is Ghost in The Tennis Court....

GHOST IN THE TENNIS COURT

Can't wait to hear the full album guys!  I really want to stay updated on the status of its release, so please keep in touch.....mmmmmm, touch........ ; )

Fuck I love Jersey....well, I guess I don't know if I love Jersey, I've never been, so let me rephrase.... Fuck I love the music coming out of New Jersey!  The Parlor Mob, Killed the Fixtion, Blisstique, The Community and now Midnight Mosaic!  Each of these bands have their own style and sound so I can't even say there is a Jersey sound but what I can say is there's been a fuck of a lot of talent coming out New Jersey in recent years.

Midnight Mosaic have put a their spin on the modern rock sound, infusing it with a funk and a soul that just makes you want to get up and move.  My Fair Lady is the perfect example of their modern rock groove. Fuck I love this song...

MY FAIR LADY

Do you happen to be old enough to remember the slow romantic soul of the past.  Well, I don't know if Midnight Mosaic is old enough (it's impolite to ask one's age) but then again who the fuck hasn't heard Barry White, Marvin Gaye and Lionel Ritchie?  I fucking love that Midnight Mosaic took this sound and reinvented with sense of humor.  Sex Soldier just might become my new favorite song.  Haha...here you gotta check it out.....

SEX SOLDIER

Okay boys..... I'm in and ready to start my own personal army.......... ; )

You can find Midnight Mosaic at their website at www.midnightmosaicmusic.com, on facebook at www.facebook.com/MidnightMosaic, on twitter at twitter.com/midnightmosaic and on youtube at www.youtube.com

Frantic Jack

Well, my favourite DJ, Mike Lang, did it again!  That's right....through his show, Fresh Tracks on 106.9 The Wolf, he introduced me to more fucking killer music.  This time it comes all the way from Ireland.

Frantic Jack are well known in their home country and there is no doubt in my mind that once more rock fans on this side of the ocean hear them they are going to be very well known here too.  They have a sexy sound that isn't sappy....reminds me a bit of the effect that Bon Jovi has on their fans.  Whether their rockin out or takin it down a notch to produce a softer, gentler touch their clean vocals and harmonies put you in the mood, if you know what I mean!

Their brand of soft rock turns me on and this song is just what it promises - Living Proof......

LIVING PROOF

Or maybe it's because Irish guys turn me on....nah...it's the fucking music.  Oh by the way, Frantic Jack, Irish guys like me too - blonde, petite, green eyes (well okay, hazel....but if I'm wearing green they compare to emeralds) - just sayin....you know, just in case you ever decide to tour Canada....... ; )

Find Frantic Jack on the web at www.franticjack.com.

Black Water Rising

Okay boys and girls, hold on tight to whatever you can get your hands on because the tide is rising and it's gonna fucking rock you.  Fuck it....let go and let Black Water Rising drown you in their brand of traditional hard rock!  You may not know it yet but I can fucking guarantee that if you're a hard rock fan, you're a Black Water Rising fan.

Here I was, spending a quiet moment having my morning coffee, going through my twitter feeds when I came across Black Water Rising.  I clicked their link, listened to a couple of their tunes and was fucking blown away.  Now I'm full of energy, excitement and yeah, maybe a little horny too!  Okay, okay...... A LOT horny.

This band turns me on!  Their style definitely gives me hope that rock music is not only still alive but is fucking kicking asses and taking names.  Full of heavy guitar riffs and vocals that were made for hard rock, Black Water Rising has no need for gimmicks or crossover styles.  They are pure fucking rock and roll and I'm fucking liking it.  But I digress, here, take a listen for yourself......

NO HALOS

You can find more info on the band, along with more videos, merchandise and links to stalk them on their website at blackwaterrising.com.  They've inspired this rock and roll angel to trade in her halo for a set of horns.  \m/(>.<)\m/ Horns up bitches ............... ; )

Satch in Vancouver

When it comes to electric guitar playing, one name stands out as being one of the best players in the music industry.  Okay...maybe more than one.  In fact, Jimi Hendrix might be the one that comes to mind first and it was his life and death that inspired a 14 year old Joe Satriani to put down his football and pick up a guitar.,

Devoting his life to his craft, Mr. Satriani, affectionately known to his fans and peers as Satch, has not only created great music but also great musicians.  Early in his career he made his living as a music instructor and taught such greats as Kirk Hammett of Metallica, David Bryson of Counting Crows, Larry LaLonde of Primus and the list goes on.  Many of you now know him as the shredder behind the super group Chickenfoot.

Well, not to fucking brag or anything, but I was lucky enough to see him perform live from the front row of the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver over the weekend!!  As much as I love great lyrics, I also love the sound of an electric guitar.  Quite often at home when I hear a guitar sing, I'll close my eyes and let the music lift me on a cloud of sound and carry me away.  One of the hardest things I may have ever done, was keep my eyes open through this concert so I could watch him play.  His music is powerful and beautiful and I found it very difficult to stay aware and not to get lost in it.  Here's an example of what Satch gives to a live audience....

SATCH BOOGIE

It's an experience I won't soon forget and I have a special friend to thank for it.  It was his suggestion and his treat.  Thanks again darlin.  Hope you come back soon............ ; )

Sunshine Superman

If you've been paying attention at all to the alternative rock scene, you have to have noticed the chicks are prominent and out front. 'Bout fucking time, I say!  I recently came across another band out of Pennsylvania that hooked me right away and I think they'll hook you too.

Sunshine Superman is made up of Valentina Raffealli on piano and vocals, Lewin Barringer on guitars, Gordon Emma on bass and Rob Tait, keeper of the beat on drums.  Together they've created a sound that is new, catchy and very cool.  I've heard a few songs, each one of them diverse, showcasing fucking unbelievable talented songwriting and musicianship.

This band will appeal to fans of many genres including rock, folk, alternative and easy listening.  They have somehow managed to blend many styles together to invent a new, fresh style that can only be labelled as Sunshine Superman.  Here take a listen...this is I Deliver.....

I DELIVER

Believe me, their others are just as fucking great and I have a feeling they are destined to have a very long and very successful music career.  I'll be staying tuned into Sunshine Superman and when they hit it big, you can be guaranteed I'll be there to tell you "told you so"............... ; )

Visit their website at www.sunshinesupermanmusic.com.  While you're there, support the effort and buy their music.  You can also catch their links to twitter, facebook and youtube.

BomB

Normally, I won't write a blog about something I can't fucking share.  Yeah, I have a bit of a reputation of being a tease, but that's only in a fun sexy way.  Generally when it comes to music, I won't tease you....I'll write about how great a new sound is but always share and let you judge for yourself.  Today, boys and girls, I'm breaking the rules.

Being a music blogger, I get to hear a lot of great new music.  Every once in a while I get to hear it before the general public.  This is the case with Cupla's new single, BomB.  When Billy McAloney (the man behind the tweets and the drums) tweeted me and told me he had something new to share, I did get pretty fucking excited.  After all, I've been a big fan of Cupla for years now.  What I heard blew me right the fuck out of the water!!

The intro, full of awesome blues and rock riffs didn't really surprise me.  Bobby McAloney (rhythm guitar) writes some of the best music I've ever heard.....and Sexy Time - er I mean Andrew Venning (lead guitar) - knows how to fucking make his guitar sing, creating a wave of sound that lifts you and carries you away on a musical magic carpet ride.

What blew me away were the vocals!! We're used to Tricia McAloney's cool sultry monotone but in this song she stretches her vocals giving us a new sound that's sexy as hell!!  The song is mixed, mastered and produced by Billy McAloney, just giving us another reason to stand in awe of this awesome musician.

No doubt, I'm a little fucking pissed they haven't released the song yet.  They are keeping it under-cover, releasing it only to reviewers and radio.  If you know a DJ that has the power to play new music (hint, hint, Mike Lang) get them to get in touch with Billy to get an mp3 of BomB....tell em you got to hear it.  Trust me, you do!  If you have a favorite online radio show that plays indie music (hint, hint, Ray and Joe)......tell em you got to hear it.  Trust me, you do!  Another thing you can do is bug the shit out of Cupla on twitter and facebook and tell em you got to hear it.  Trust me, you do!

On twitter they can be found under the handles @CuplaBand,  @BillMcAloney,  @TriciaMcaloney,  @Bmc31 and @VenZen23.  Their facebook page is facebook.com/CuplaBand.  If you are anywhere near Vancouver, you'll want to check out their show at the Cellar Club on November 8th.  Details can be found on facebook here > facebook.com/events.  I'm gonna be there even if I have to fucking swim......... ; )

She Only Likes Me When She's Drinking

Everybody has their type.  A certain something about someone else that we find irresistible. Some like the tall dark and handsome type, some like the beach blonde, some like a bad boy, some are attracted to a man with a sense of style.  I tend not to be particularly turned on by the way a man looks.  Instead, I'm attracted to a man's creativity. and in particular there's two type of men that really fucking turn me on....musicians and comedians.

That being said you can imagine how wet my panties get when I come across musicians that also make me laugh.  Life is way too fucking serious at times and our only relief from the despair of the 6:00 news, our financial woes or the death and disease that infuses itself into our lives is our ability to laugh.  Scientists are just discovering the healing effects that music has but who of us hasn't heard that laughter is the best medicine?  Just fucking think about how good a combination of the two is for our health and spirit.

Now, I'm no doctor but that doesn't mean I don't recognize when something is good for me.  The Community, a band out of New Jersey, is exactly what the doctor ordered in terms of good fun.  I seriously want to fucking party with these guys.  They've just released a video for their song She Only Likes Me When She's Drinking and I can't wait to share it with you!

SHE ONLY LIKES ME WHEN SHE'S DRINKING

Now if that didn't put a smile on your face, then I suggest you make an appointment with your doctor to remove the stick that's shoved up your ass.  As for me, I'm working on a new life goal - getting my ass (stick free) to New Jersey to have some fun with The Community!  Yeah, I know....most people would aim for the beaches and sunshine of Hawaii....but then again, who the fuck said I'm like most people........ ; )

KynchinLay

Okay boys and girls, hold on tight because we are taking another quick trip over the pond.  If you're a fan of the powerpop punk sounds that have been made popular over the decades by artists such as Bowie, The Kinks and yes even Pink Floyd, I think you are gonna love what the UK is pumping out today.

KynchinLay is a trio that's been together since 2010 and now in 2013 we're finally getting to hear some of their recorded singles....and I'm fucking likin' it!!  The sound, though not entirely new, is not a traditional rock sound either.  It's been revived over the years in the form of punk and goth and now, again, KynchinLay has brought it back from the ashes and recreated it in the form of industrial rock.

I don't normally share live videos because let's face it....the sound quality just isn't fucking there.  But in this case, this video was either recorded with great equipment or these guys are just that fucking good....lets go with "these guys are just that fucking good".  Here's one of three singles to appear on their debut EP, this is Public Execution......

PUBLIC EXECUTION

Now this is just their first single and only a taste of what these guys have to offer.  I highly suggest you visit their bandcamp page at kynchinlay.bandcamp.com. Take a listen to all three of their singles and discover how diverse this band really is!!  I think Dogfeathers might be my favourite....but then again, I'm a little fucking weird....... ; )

The Motorleague

I always get to hear great new tunes when I tune in to 106.9 The Wolf's Fresh Tracks with Mike Lang and this week was no exception.  One particular group that caught my attention are straight from Canada's east coast.

New Brunswick is a friendly and beautiful part of Canada (I know because I've had the chance to visit) and apparently it fucking rocks too.  The Motorleague are a hard rocking punk-influenced band whose high energy sound will have you jumping and headbanging all at the same time.  What I especially love about this band is that they are not your typical cookie cutter rock band.  You can definitely hear their east coast Celtic Folk culture in the undertones of their tunes.

Canada is a huge country ripe full of many cultures and styles.  Music is an expression of emotion of course, but to be real it also has to be an expression of the musicians' environment and The Motorleague are true to their art!  This song is a perfect example...

EVERY MAN NEEDS A CAPE BRETON

.....and perhaps every woman needs a Cape Breton man at some point in her life..... ; )

Check out more tunes and videos on their website at www.themotorleague.ca ....believe me, it only gets better and better!!

No Operator

There's no better way to start your morning than with a cup of coffee and some fucking kick ass rock n roll. So grab a cup of joe and ready your ears for  No Operator!

I've been a fan of the band since I heard about them about a year ago and I was lucky enough to catch No Operator live earlier this year at the Cambie in Nanaimo.  It was a fucking killer show and you can read about in my blog post No Operator can Trace the Sky and Carry the Storm posted on July 4, 2013. So I was super excited to hear them on the radio this week thanks to Mike Lang of 106.9 The Wolf (the best fucking rock station on the island) and his radio segment "Fresh Tracks" which airs on The Wolf every Sunday evening at 6:00 pm Pacific Time.

Getting radio play is big for any band...especially one that is just starting to establish themselves.  Even if it is only one song during one segment.  I have no doubt that this is just one more step in the right direction for Ollie and the boys of No Operator.  The first step of course is to record killer tunes...they have that one down to a science.  Check out No Operator and their youtube vid for State Your Allegiance.....

STATE YOUR ALLEGIANCE

For more info on the band visit their facebook page at www.facebook.com/nooperator.

So there!  You've had your coffee and infused your senses with some great hard rock.  The world is yours for the taking, go out and get it....... ; )

Black Nevada

I need a fucking vacation.  I can't afford it and can't leave work right now but come with me and take a virtual vacation.  Today we're heading over the pond to Shildon/Bishop Auckland situated in the UK. Why you ask?  Well, because that is where Black Nevada is playing!

Black Nevada is a relatively new alternative rock band, formed in January of 2012, but is already building quite a fan base.  It's weird that I've come across them now.  Let me tell you why.  Sunday, I was listening to one of my favorite syndicated radio shows, The Secret History of Rock, hosted by Alan Cross.  This week the subject of interest was the resurgence of punk in the 90's.  I definitely hear that style behind Black Nevada's sound.

The resurgence of punk I speak of happened just after Kurt Cobain's suicide, grunge was on it's way out and making room for a new sound.  Bands like Green Day, The Offspring and Sum 41 were exploding onto the scene.  I won't say Black Nevada is a replica of the bands mentioned, because they're not.  There is a harder edge to their music, yet music fans of the time will undoubtedly recognize the unmistakable undertones of that popular 90's sound.  Here, take a listen.....

FAILURE AT BEST

Well?  Did I call that fucking right or what?  Anyway, you can hear more from this band by checking out their bandpage on facebook at www.facebook.com/BlackNevada.  To listen to them requires a like...yeah, I know, I fucking hate that too, but let's face it, I've already given you a listen, so if you like their music, give them the fucking like and stop your bitching.  I do and I did........ ; )

Lorde - Royals

Hey y'all....one of those mornings I'm afraid.  Ran out of time to write, so I'm just gonna share a song that's been getting under my skin.  The rhythms are smooth and the lyrics are catchy AND relevant.

ROYALS

The uber rich make up only a small percentage of our population, yet we seem to be so fucking caught up in their lifestyle. We live in an age where people are celebrities just on account of their bank account (Paris Hilton, the Kardashians).  Lorde expresses a satisfaction with life that we would all do well to grasp.  Have a great day, rock fans.  I hope you catch the buzz you crave........ ; )

October Sky - Fall Tour 2013

Well, it's official....we are definitely going to have to fucking change the name of month from October to Roctober!  I'll be seeing One Bad Son with Crash Karma on the 8th, Joe Satriani on the 19th, and now I hear October Sky is coming back to my neck of the woods on October 12th.

Last fall it was my one of my greatest pleasures to go to Vancouver to catch Montreal rockers October Sky live at Joe's Apartment.  Well, another fall has come and October Sky is back on the road.  They'll be at Joe's Apartment once again and I'm going to do my damnest to be there!

Lucky for Canada, Vancouver isn't their only stop.  In fact they've already started playing to packed audiences.  If you're fucking smart (and I know you are) and love great music (and I know you do) you will be in at least one of their audiences.

But then again, perhaps you're skeptical....perhaps you haven't heard of October Sky ....well, I don't know what fucking rock you've been living under but let me lift it up for you and show you the light. This is lead singer, Karl Raymond, performing an acoustic version of one of my favourite October Sky songs Prisoner of Nothing from their killer album The Aphotic Season.....

PRISONER OF NOTHING

I think the reason I can really relate to this song is because I too am a prisoner of nothing......well except maybe booze, sex, cigarettes, caffeine, music......okay, maybe I fucking spoke to soon.......... ; )

I highly recommend you check out October Sky when they roll into a town near you.  Here are their tour dates.

Ezra Vancil

It's no secret that I love music that fucking assaults all my senses.  What some of you may not know is that I get off just as much on music that soothes.  I came across an artist very recently that fits that bill perfectly.

Ezra Vancil (Ezra Thomas) produces a sound that makes me feel like I'm in a beautiful warm lagoon. His music flows over me and envelopes me in soft waves. Yes, it definitely soothes my soul and yet at the same time it invigorates me.

Listening to Ezra inspires me to believe in some kind of higher power. There is something .....um, I won't say heavenly because heaven in the traditional sense is not something I believe in, but not of this world, yet not alien either....that shines through him and lends strength to those us who lose ourselves in his songs.

Perhaps I'm getting sentimental, but I think we all like to rub ourselves against something soft and comforting every once in while.  Ezra gives me that something.  I'm curious as to whether he gives it to you as well.  Please give him a listen and let me know ......; )

Carpe Diem

There's nothing fucking better than a live rock show.  Watching a band you know and love strut their stuff and do their thing to a live audience.  The energy becomes a palpable thing, something that pounds at you from the inside, forcing you to react!  That has always been the way it's been for me every time I've seen Calgary rockers Kingdom of Few perform.

But alas....I left those sexy boys in Alberta last year when I moved my fine ass out to the west coast.  I've seen them post events about playing around the Calgary area and my heart has broken a little bit every time with the knowledge that I wasn't going to be able to catch one of their shows.  So...what's a girl to do...?

Well... besides creeping their facebook page and stalking them on twitter... you wait until they release a fucking kickass video!  Then, they're at your disposal...anytime you need a Kingdom of Few fix, they're just a click of the mouse away.  Well, rock fans....the wait is finally fucking over....and they're singing my own personal anthem!

CARPE DIEM

Oh hell yeah!!  Cuz today, I'm living life my own way....don't let your life pass you by!  You tell em boys....words to fucking live by!  And holy shit, you're looking good!!  Curt, you've always been a sexy beast....Reno, hey baby, you fucking leave me in awe....John, you're looking buff as usual darlin...and is that really Alex Parks on bass lookin' all badass??  Made me look twice, sweetheart..... okay....three times!

Great fucking tune, great fucking video...only one problem....throwing my panties at the computer screen just isn't quite the same....sooooo, when are you coming to the west coast? .......... ; )

Subscribe to Kingdom of Few's channel at www.youtube.com to catch all their vids!

Phil Brown

One of the greatest rewards I get from writing a music blog is being exposed to so many great new artists, hearing new music from highly talented new bands on the scene.  Every once in a while though, something extraordinary comes across my computer.... That happened to me this weekend when I heard Phil Brown for the first time and fell hopelessly in love.

Those of you who are into classic rock are going to love Phil Brown too.  When you hear his songs you'll find something familiar about them.  The reason for this is he's one of those artists that has been hiding behind the scenes for decades, writing songs for other artists.  Phil has had his songs cut by some of the most famous artists we seen over the decades.  Artists such as Pat Benatar, Cher, Ace Freely, Steve Perry, Kim Carnes and more...the worst part being, he didn't get writing credit for them.  Note to songwriters....don't give your talent away!!  Sure, it's super cool to hear your songs recorded, but man, take credit for them!!

So now, finally, Phil is coming out from behind the scenes, recording his own music.  His voice is seductive and smooth in a raspy, very manly sort of way, a definite turn on.  His lyrics are down to earth, something we can all relate to.  His guitar skills are out of this world!  Here's just a taste of what Phil Brown has to offer the world.  It's the video I came across that made me say wow!!

SHAKESPEARE TOLD ME

This video led me to listen to more by Phil and believe me....this man has it goin on!!  I think you'd probably agree that any fans of ZZ Top, Robbie Robertson, Bob Seger, or more recently The Dave Matthews Band are going to love Phil Brown.  And that ain't bad company to be in with..... ; )

For more videos by Phil Brown you have to check out his youtube channel at www.youtube.com. Just click on the link and it'll take you right to him.

Friday Night at Logan's Pub

It's been a while since I fucking tore it up, so I guess I was due.  Friday night, my new friend James Buhs - kickass front man for heavy fucking metal rockers Fatal Instinct came over to the island to scope some venue sites to play, so of course, I offered my wheels and my hospitality to hop around Victoria.

I had mentioned Logan's Pub on Cook Street to him previously, knowing that Carry the Storm (another fucking kickass metal band) had played there and had a great time.  Turns out, on the ferry ride over, he ran into another band heading over to the island to play, guess where - Logan's Pub!  Those guys turned out to be Cocaine Moustache, Vancouver's hard hitting party band.

So, off to Logan's Pub we went.  The night started off with Crown and Coke (doubles) and Fatal Instinct playing on the pub's P.A. system....great fucking start.  When they turned off the P.A. the Gnar Gnars took to the stage.  This band is just fucking fun...I can't think of a better way to describe them.  Their lyrics backed by a punk vibe poke fun at today's pop culture and had me laughing out loud.  They're brand new to the scene, so unfortunately I can't share any of their music for you as it's not posted online yet.  Let's hope they post something soon.  In the meantime, head over to their facebook page at www.facebook.com/thegnargnars and check out their posts.  Like I said....a lot of fucking fun!

Next on stage came The Drunken Superheroes.  I wasn't totally surprised to see the lead singer of the Gnar Gnars get behind the drum kit and play for The Drunken Superheroes....sharing musicians happens a lot with local bands.  This band is more hardcore but still a helluva lot of fun featuring Captain Blackout on vocals and guitar, Liverboy on vocals and bass, Stuperman on vocals and drums and of course it never hurts an image to have a cute blonde (Blunderwoman) on vocals and jumping around on stage.  Again...we have a brand new band that hasn't posted their tunes online, so again, if you'd like to hear their tunes - unless you get to a show you're shit out of luck (for now anyway).  Their facebook page can be found at www.facebook.com/The-Drunken-Superheroes.  They haven't posted a fuck of a lot yet, but perhaps we can inspire them with a few more likes

Headlining the night was of course Cocaine Moustache.  As soon as they started to play, it was apparent through their talent and timing that these guys have some great experience behind them.  Taking hard rock, blues, punk, funk and hell yes, bluegrass, they mash it all together to create a brand new genre of music, let's just call it Stache Rock for lack of a better term.  Though they have some very serious musical talent, these guys don't take themselves too seriously either.  Their lyrics, much like their lifestyle reflect that it's all about having a good time.  And believe me, with these guys, their good time is fucking contagious! As it turns out, these guys do have an album out!  On The Mirror is available for purchase at Reversed Records Store at www.reversedrecords.com/estore or on iTunes through the same website.  Hard copy or digital...the choice is yours!  You can also find Cocaine Moustache on facebook for more info and links at www.facebook.com/TheStacheBand.  And finally!  I can fucking share a tune with you!  Check out Cocaine Moustache.....

THE PLEDGE

I had a fucking blast!  I felt a little sorry for James though, who is very serious about his music.  Fatal Instinct is reflective of the life and friends James has known.  If there is a living hell on Earth, James has lived through it and survived to write and express his experiences through his music.  I'm wagering his comfort zone is in a much darker place.  He was a great sport though, showed me a great time and took care of my drunken ass.  So, as much as I raise my glass to the guys in the bands having a fucking great time, I raise my glass to James Buhs of Fatal Instinct.  Metal guys are the fucking best.......... ; )

The Standstills

Canada fucking rocks!!  I know I'm starting to sound a bit repetitive, but every time I turn around, I'm hearing another fucking killer band from Canada!  Today it's Ontario rockers The Standstills!

Take one part grundge, add a dash of southern metal, mix in some country blues and a whole lot of kick ass and you have the perfect recipe for The Standstills latest album Pushing Electric!  Full of energy and pushing it out into the universe through dedicated musical talent, these rockers are a fucking hit with me and they will be with you too!

I caught this video and fell in love, check it out.....

JESUS

The Standstills hail and wail from Oshawa, Ontario....and here I thought they only made cars there....hmmmm, first Detroit, then Oshawa....perhaps there's a connection.  Makes sense, really - innovation, creativity - why the fuck wouldn't they be connected.  Well, let's just suffice it to say that The Standstills are the best fucking thing to come out of Oshawa since the '69 Camero - and much like my favorite car, they're fast, powerful and sexy as hell!

You can access videos and tuneage from their website at www.thestandstills.com along with news from the band and all their links.  I personally signed up for their newsletter as well....and subscribed to their youtube channel, liked em on facebook and follow them on twitter. Yep, it's fucking official, I'm a fucking stalker....... ; )

Red Light Masters

Okay....y'all know I'm a hard rocker at heart, but that doesn't mean my tastes are exclusive to hard rock or metal.  You've seen me talk about country, blues and yes, even some dance music.  The genre I have not yet touched on is popular rock.  Truth is, I don't really listen to a lot of it.  In my opinion, it tends to be somewhat over-rated with it's bubblegum lyrics and dance routines.

That being said, I do have to tell you that some of it deserves the high rating it gets.  Take for instance Michael Jackson's Thriller album.  Yeah, you heard me....I owned it and I'm not ashamed to say it (anymore)!  That was a fucking killer album...and a pretty awesome video too (Thriller).  I like Justin Timberlake better since he left N'Sync, though I'm still a bigger fan of his acting and comedy career - have you seen him on SNL?  The dude is fucking funny!

And then there's the stuff that's under-rated.  I came across Canada's own Red Light Masters on twitter.  They tweeted me a song, and like em all, I took a listen.  Right away I was reminded of Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake!  And I fucking liked it!!  These guys are just as good as the pop kings mentioned....why isn't their song a number 1 hit yet?  Who the fuck knows.....?

One thing I do know is that the Red Light Masters are giving me a crazy kinda groove!  Here, check it out for yourself......

CRAZY KINDA GROOVE

Kinda catches ya, doesn't it.....doesn't hurt it has some nice rock guitar too!  These guys have the potential to be more than a one hit wonder too, 'cause here's another....

INDEPENDENCE

The Red Light Masters have 3 songs for their album recorded and as they finish each song, they're sharing them with the world.  Head over to their facebook page at www.facebook.com/pages/Red-Light-Masters, give em a like and hold on...when the right person/people discover them, they're going straight to the top........ ; )
